History
Alexander’s, located in the heart of downtown Scranton, first opened its doors in 1995. Our name was chosen in honor of the owner’s late father. An 800 square-foot space on Linden Street was our first location, and offered hair services along with minimal spa services. Alexander’s moved just two years later to a larger building on Spruce Street, which quickly filled with spa amenities and a devoted clientele.
Due to the emerging popularity of spa services and a strong need for even more room, Alexander’s moved in 2001 to its present location: the Gordon Building at 431 Lackawanna Avenue. In 2006, we began expanding and renovating the historical building. Alexander’s existing salon services, as well as additional salon services, are now located on the second floor. Additional spa treatment rooms, a large retail store and a separate men’s spa will occupy the first floor. The expansion, encompassing more than 18,000 square feet and three levels, will be completed by spring 2008.
Alexander’s, currently staffing over 60 people, is proud to offer outstanding spa treatments, as well as a variety of designer hair services for both men and women. Our team of professionals is trained to the highest international and technical standards of performance.
We invite you to renew your body with a Private Herbal Steam and Thai Massage or indulge in an Ancient Seaweed Body Wrap or a Rosemary Mint Bath Soak. Perhaps a simple refresher, with an Express Spa Haircut and Manicure, is what you are looking for. Whatever you need, Alexander’s will ensure an unsurpassable experience.

Policies
Appointments are not always necessary.
All requests under the age of sixteen must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all time.
We strongly adhere to our cancellation policy. If you must reschedule or cancel an appointment, as a courtesy to our other clients, please advise us twenty-four hours in advance to avoid being charged for the scheduled treatment or service.
All gift certificate sales are final and non-refundable. We are not responsible for lost or stolen gift certificates, however we will do whatever we can for you in these circumstances.
If you are booking a bridal party or any other parties of two or more, a credit card number is required to hold the treatment and or services that you have requested.
In appreciation for outstanding service, gratuities may be given to our staff at your discretion.
We provide tip envelopes at our check out desk for your convenience.
For your convenience, we offer complimentary parking in the garage at the Mall at Steamtown.
We are a smoke free facility.
We accept Master Card, Visa, Discover, U of S Royal Card and Spa Finder gift certificates.
We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
